More Performers Added To Grammy Line Up
Wednesday, 09 February 2005

With the 47th Annual Grammy Awards approaching this weekend, more performers have been announced for the big show. Mr. Awards Show himself, Usher, has been added to the line up. Usher is up for eight Grammys this year. Also opening up the evening will be a massive performance featuring multiple artists spread out onto three different stages. The Black Eyed Peas, Gwen Stefani and Eve, Los Lonely Boys, Maroon 5, and Franz Ferdinand will all kick off the night.

Two nights before the Grammys, a major VIP event will be held honoring Brian Wilson as the 2005 MuisCares Person Of The Year. An all-star line up of artists will perform, including Red Hot Chili Peppers, Neil Young, Backstreet Boys, Barenaked Ladies, Jeff Beck, Michelle Branch, Jamie Cullum, Earth, Wind & Fire and many others.

The Grammys will air on CBS on Sunday night at 8 p.m. The show will be hosted by Queen Latifah, who will also perform.

I will only watch it, if jennifer lopez is there.
I hope my other girl Cyndi Lauper wins!!!!!!!She deserves to win.

Chuck & Dayer - Sietzsounds is correct - this is the first time that there will be a dance/electronica ALBUM category - the previous winners were for single releases (I know that David Morales won a couple years back)...whatever the case is, I think that any recognition, especially major recognition from the Grammys will help bring dance music back to where it belongs in the US.

It is amazing that everywhere else in the world, it is chart topping pop music but here in the US it has much less credibility. Well music goes in cycles - boy bands are hot then fade away and then 10 years later the genre is hot again (can anyone say "Bay City Rollers" (70's) New Kids on The Block (late 80's - early 90's)- Nsync (late 90's- early 2000's). Same with rock etc - and dance music will always come back strong in one form or another!

they say the reason is that electronica/dance music is not that mainstream is because there is "no face "
well my new single is coming out February 28th and I am going to do my best to try and change THAT! LOL!

yeah I just researched it too.... the new category is for a full dance album as opposed to a dance single.... I'm looking at this as a positive move for dance music in general!!!!! 🙂

it's just basement jaxx that won the dance album award.. nothing big really it wasn't even broadcast on tv

however the opening act of these awards were amazing!

I'm watching the show too Tran.... pretty boring overall in my opinion... don't care for Queen latifah, Alicia Keyes, or U2..... and I like Prince, but he beat Usher for best r&b male vox???? and wasn't even there to accept???? wtf???

the southern rock they did was pretty kewl including neil young performing on sweet home alabama the soing that had a verse that answerd to his southern man song

MAROON 5 BEATS OUT KANYE WEST AGAIN AND THEY GAVE HIM PROPS (SARCASM) And you should have seen him GRUMBLING UNDER HIS VOICE SITTING IN HIS CHAIR!!! LOL!!!

He is such a PIECE O CRAP!! Serves him RIGHT for whining the last time he lost to them.
