Well, another year about to come to an end.

This has been an interesting and sometimes dull year for music on TV and on The radio.

In 2002, this year marks one of the worst years for record sales. Records sales dropped 30% which is one of the lowest ever since 1981. The factors that the blame is laying on is MP3's, a bad economy.

Hip hop started out stale and slow, but with the Jay-Z vs Nas and Eminem threatning Moby and his movie; 8 Mile, hip hop picked up the pace in the middle of the year.

The teen pop crave has lost steam. That leaves the acts of Nsync and BSB members doing solo projects. Christina going for a Dirrty image, and yes; Britney and Justin split!!LOL. Alicia keys, Michelle Branch, Vanessa Calton and Arvil Lavinge(listed as Punk Pop and The Anti-Britney) were the teen pop divas this year.

Rock has has an amazing year. Dispite few Rock albums went #1, rock was one of the best selling types of music this year. And a big Punk resurgince has arrived. I think the teen pop stuff drove a demand for more real music!!LOL.

Wacko Jacko continues to kill his legacy. A reality show; American Idol creates(or cheats to make)future legends. Like Kelly Clarkson for one who was the winner. Two powerhouse Divas in Mariah and Whitney(they say)cleaned up their off stage acts to return to big selling records.

Can we say that radio playlists and rotation on Top 40 has gotten worst by the second!! No wonder radio listership is continuing to drop. In addition, XM radio and net radio was on the rise this year.

What is this about Country music being the best selling Genre of Music this year. I know Toby Keith does the 10 10 220 Comercials with Alf, and yes; Faith Hill and Shania is beautiful. But, really!!!!

But my favortie music moment is, Dance Music not going anywhere. With Party 93.1(miami), SF getting an all dance station along with B96(Chicago) playing freestyle again. It shows, that dance provides great energy and gets everyone in the mood.

What a year for music.

Anything you guys wanted to add about the music of 2002?

I forgot about Left Eye and John Entwhistle(former bassist for The Who).

Elvis vs JXL had a huge teack in the clubs that helped introduce a young audience to Elvis Presley.

The year ends with new music from Nyasia and Ashley.

And of course, THE DIVA, Madonna, scores yet another Top 10 hit with the James Bond title song, "Die Another Day".

Jam Master Jay's death had a huge impact on the hip hop industry. Mariah's meltdown was last year. And Nirvana's new album did do huge wonders for rock this year.;)

Jam Master Jays death... very sad... a true icon and a major idol of mine. I grew up on RunDMC in the mid 80's, I learned to scratch using their vinyls, and they're all over my early mix tapes.

I had a chance to meet JMJ... I was the assistant engineer on the vox recording of Run-DMC's "Back From Hell" in the early 90's. D & Ice Cube were rhyming & Jay was producing. They were all totally cool.

I forgot; 3LW turned into 2LW. Naturi says the group ousted her because of her skin complexion(she's dark), and not fitting the groups new image. The other two say, Naturi hated the new image. Also, last week on TRL, the third new 3LW member was introduced. Question is; did we even care?!!!LOL

Axl Rose was saying that Guns & Roses was coming out with a new album, but he would not say when it would be released. The G & R tour started, but it only had riots, because, Mr Axl never showed up to any of them. The tour was cancelled. Also, did we even care?LOL.
