    the off-beats?

    a pattern i've noticed with a lot of freestyle songs, especially judy torres... is the 3rd beat of every bar in a freestyle song supposed to have no beat hitting down? i havent heard a lot of freestyle songs that have the percussion hitting on the 3rd beat, so is a sort of rule of how the beats go?
