latinstyle u have no appreciation for what freestyle has evolved into today. "no play"? sure, south of the border, but it's all the hype here in t-dot. oh well everyone gets their own opinion so fine then..

realfreestyle i know the term's a bit annoying but this style of freestyle is the best we've got today, at least it's bringing in new artists unlike america who's got the same artists as they did 10 years ago. sure they're good but unfortunately they're not making much new progress.

Hi guys,

Most of the new "EuroFreestyle/German" products are not interesting. It's over and over the same style, beat, vocals and melody.

Who cares?
Nobody.

Sorry guys, but personally (my 2 cents) I prefer the American Freestyle productions. The American productions propose a bigger variety of Freestyle genres than the German ones.
But one thing is sure the level of quality goes down for these both countries.

So, be careful, before to buy something, because there are more cheesy products than good productions, whatever the country.

Francis

u people r disappointing me. of course the old stuff's better but there still is plenty of good newer freestyle. although of course in the past few months the freestyle supply from canada & europe has been going dry.

what from europe sucks??

ceres -- open ur eyes and dancing with an angel??
sweet tb -- let me fly???
prima donna -- lucky star (drc remix)???

those are probably the only three songs that i know are from europe (not being EURO first then remixed into freestyle that is... cos then i can go on forever).. and these songs are f'ing AMAZING!

Canadian freestyle strongly resembles that euro-freestyle feel... and i personally LOVE IT!... now give me a RECENT USA track that gets as much airplay as these three did?

Sugi Wugi Zulu…beach boogie,

What's up?

Nice to hear that you’re enjoying your weekend.

Me too, I’m taking care of tan.

Tran Man,

Sorry to hear that we disappointed you, but it is a fact that there is not a bunch of good newer Freestyle. I’m sure you are not fooled.
If you like to buy and listening over and over the same stuff that the labels proposed us, well it’s your problem. Personally, I won’t support or talk in good term about those labels/producers/etc. They need to respect the fans first instead of to try to rip them off with boring and shitty stuffs.

1sxychica,

I don’t want you think that I’m disagreeable, but the stuffs you mentioned on your post start to be very old. LOL. Some of them have been released 1 year ago.

Prima Donna is not a German production.

These three singles you mentioned only received good airplay in Canada.

I think, the Nu-Image’s single “I’ll always love you” start to receive nice airplays in the States and in Canada. It’s only a beginning because the single (pressed on Micmac Records) should be released in July.

i'm very well aware that those songs are not outta the oven.. they've been around... BUT they're recent comparing to old school say... Torontoneans are VERY picky with their freestyle.. so we get the BEST... those three artists managed to satisfy Tdot freestyler's needs... other than the OLD SCHOOL freestyle, which most of us LOVE so so much.. we don't have a SINGLE track playing that's from the USA.. that should tell u about the quality

Not all Toronto freestyle fans like European freestyle. I'm from Toronto and I think most euro-freestyle is boring (and "shitty", to borrow a term from Francis).

As for the lack of new American freestyle on Toronto radio, that has nothing to do with quality. It has everything to do with the musical tastes of Tony Monaco and Z103.5. Basically, for most freestyle fans in T.O., the only freestyle they hear is what Tony Monaco plays.

If he never plays new American freestyle, they never get a chance to hear it.
Since he only ever plays crappy Euro-freestyle and old mainstream songs that are played out, that's all most people know!

Hi 1sxychica,

As Gornicevo explained pretty well in his post, you only have a few famous radio stations and DJs who are spinning Freestyle on the air in Canada. In fact, it's the same thing in America. But contrarily to the States, in Canada, they are playing over and over the same tracks and the same style (productions with Planet Rock beat) and a few Old School Classics most of the time from the States).
In the States, you have a bigger variety of Freestyle genres on the radio (New & Old School Freestyle, Progressive Freestyle, Miami Sound, Electro Funk, etc.).
I know that in Canada, as in Germany, Freestylers love the stuff with a Planet Rock beat. Personally, I don't hate this style but I think it's boring to hear the same thing over and over and I’m also thinking that it will be better if the producers/artists/labels and DJs/radio stations propose something more varied…musically speaking!!!

You said "We don't have a SINGLE track playing that's from the USA.. that should tell u about the quality". Yep, but I didn’t see a SINGLE from Canada since a long long time ago either.
Most of the songs played on the Canadian radio are only available on compilations. And many of them come from Germany. The only country which are distributing regularly "singles" (even if the quantity is less than two years ago) is the Germany's country. And most of your labels (as for instance SPG Music or Ventura International, etc.) started to be very interesting by the German productions. Just check their compilations/medleys and you will see that I’m right.

It's true, I’m not a big fan of Euro-Freestyle for the reasons I already explained above, but I'm not against this style of Freestyle either. I just think that they should offer to the fans something more original and innovating, and most important they should give us products with a better quality especially concerning the vocals and the production.

I must clarify something with you people. by using the term "euro freestyle", are you talking about euro songs that have a cheesy planet rock beat plugged onto it? they've done that to euro songs like glide - lost forever and audrey - i know. those i agree sound awful, they're not "real". or are u talking about actual freestyle songs like sweet tb - let me fly that just happen to sound like euro because that's kinda what's in style nowadays here?

and another thing. name some newer american freestyle songs released in the past 4-6 months which are good. i wanna hear what you can do nowadays if you don't stick to the euro-ish sound.

Tran Man,

I will work on a list (American good tracks)for you. I'm already sure that I will find more stuff than in Canada.

When we are talking about Euro Freestyle, well, we are talking about bands as Freestyle Project, Sweet TB (by the way, "Let me fly" is a cool song), etc. Both styles you mentioned in your post above.

See ya.

Tran Man,

Here we go…

Here is a list of some American songs that I appreciated those last past 6 months. Most of them are on compilations, but some of them are also available on single CD or 12”.

Songs available on CD single:

Chrissy I-eece: “I don’t mind chasing you” E.L.I. RECORDS
Chrissy I-eece: “You & me” E.L.I. RECORDS
Fernanda: “Porque la vida es asi” E.L.I. RECORDS
Joey Santana: “You are the one for me” E.L.I. RECORDS
Nu-Image: “I’ll always love you” ARIA RECORDS

Songs available on compilation:

Aby: “Sometimes”
Ashley: “When’s it all gonna end”
Ayna: “Day to night”
Nina Martinez: “Gimme just 1 night”
Marline Miranda: “Praying 4 an angel”

Could you do the same concerning some good Canadian songs???

k i believe that zoe song is called "I will be with you".

anyway about the songs u listed..
Chrissy I-eece - You & Me (not too bad, it's kinda catchy.)
Fernanda - Porque la vida es asi (a good song, although VERY old-ish sounding)
Nu-image - Always Love You (lyrics good but the beat isn't as captivating and new-sounding as canadian freestyle, i guess its just im not used to it)

Nice effort for a U.S. ;ist.

The american tracks listed above do not appeal much to our canadian ears and are unlikely to get broadcast or retail exposure. We like our new Joee, Audrey and planet rock goodies in between.
