Queen rockin with Paul

my brother and I are both huge Queen fans and we took our dad to a Queen concert at the 02 in London for his birthday and it was amazing.. we were both skeptical about Paul Rodgers' singing but dad wanted to go so we went.. man were we wrong.. the guy is a smooth fit with the rest of Queen and their sound is different than older Queen.. Paul we realized isn't trying to replace Freddy, he's just tryin to take Queen in a new direction altogether.. which is why we bought the album Cosmos Rocks and as a family we concur that we love it haha

give it a listen

Sorry, but it just isn't Queen without Freddie. It's like the Doors without Jim Morrison, INXS without Rick Hutchence, Van Halen without David Lee Roth, Journey without Steve Perry, Styx without Dennis DeYoung, Blind Melon without Shannon Hoon, Alice In Chains without Layne Staley, Led Zeppelin without Robert Plant....

Paul Rodgers has been great with Bad Company, the Firm, the Law, and his other solo projects, but putting him in Queen basically produces an effect not unlike "Van Hagar". If Queen really wanted to continue without Freddie, they should've gotten an unknown, prferably from a tribute band, which no doubt there's quite a few for Queen, kinda like what Judas Priest did with Ripper Owens when he briefly replaced Rob Halford 10 years ago. In fact Marl Wahlberg film Rock Star, was loosely based on Ripper's story.
