I just checked out the Vol.16

THIS IS THE BADEST VOL. of the Series i ever heard !!!!!!

Bassbump, check your ears

The Jon K guy can not sing at all !!! (Song No.10)

COD, DJ Sequenza, BVSMP, Stevie.B (spring Love) are old songs.
The Freida - Promise to stay-version is not the one i knew from Canada.

The best song is Collage "Tonight" Budz Remix.

I hope they stop producing such a shit in the future !!!

:crap

The compilation has 7 solid international hits; if you have individual cd singles for Freda, collage, Flying Steps, Mr. bass feat. streetstyler, freestyle project, tamila d. and tiga & zyntherius; then sure, it is not the greatest; not many compilations will please everyone.

Track #1: C.O.D. "In the bottle" is a major classic from the Afrika Bambaata days and is hard to find on cd. I think it is great that it is available at retail finally.

Tracks 3,4,5,9,12,13,14 are established cd single or chart hits from ZYX, SPG Music, Universal and Sony Music in various countries including Germany and Canada.

Track #8: Alexxis & Jon K "Yesterday"; this Jon K. is in fact Adam Marano; Although not a charted hit or available as single; it is a great track with excellent instrumentation and production; similar to Collage tracks or his single from 1999 "Love me now". Alexxis voice is very good as well and worth a second listen.

Track #10: True the guy on the track cannot sing; and it is terrible. It is not Adam Marano for sure. Adam has also recorde under the name Gino X on some of those compilations but this one does not appear do be him either. If it is; I feel sorry for him; maybe he was drunk and that's why he is Gino X and Jon K on that one hehe.

Tracks #11 & 16: True, they are terrible and should not be pressed.

In my opinion, the tracklist all and all is very solid and we'll have to agree to disagree on this one

Full track listing

1. C.O.D.- In The Bottle (12" Mix) > Original planet rock classic from 1982-1985 era
2. Shannon - Let The Music Play (Nite Interlude Remix)
3. DJ Sequenza- Europalace magic - DJ Sequenza
4. **HOT HIT** Flying Steps - B-Unitor II
5. **HOT HIT** Tiga & Zyntherius - Sunglasses At Night
6. BVSMP - Shake That Thang
7. Stevie B. - Spring Love
8. **HOT** Alexxis & Jon K. - Yesterday
9. **HOT HIT** Mr. Bass featuring Streetstyler - Get Off
10. Jon K. - Tainted Love (true, a terrible track, another freestyle cover by Electronic Love is much better)
11. Gino X. - Arabian Nights (Terrible Track)
12. **HOT HIT** Collage - Tonite (Budz radio)
13. **HOT HIT** Freestyle Project - Music for my soul 2001 (Short Cut)
14. **HOT HIT** FREDA - Promise To Stay
15. **HOT HIT** Tamila D. - You take me higher
16. Salvina - Don't Walk Away (Not a good track at all)

Unhappy About vol.16

Peter,

VOL.16 is not good but I don't think that this CD is the badest one.

This series was a "reference" few years ago for some freestylerz, not anymore... It's a waste of money to buy each CD of this series. The recording quality is awful and not professional in my opinion. I'm not talking about the content...that will bore you to death!

Jon K is Adam Marano.

Bassbump,

I'm totally agree with ya, a compilation won't please everyone. But I think the purpose of this series of CDs on ZYX Music is not to propose the same products over and over, but to introduce to the Freestylerz new stuff... that they are also not available in other German comps. Believe me it's quite boring to buy a CD for 4or 5 new songs, especially when those new tracks suck.

I'm not sure that you are right for the CD single releases, here is the list of the products released in CD single. Tell me if I am wrong. Available on CD or 12" single: C.O.D, DJ Sequenza, Tiga & Zyntherius, Stevie B, Mr Bass, Collage
and Freestyle Project.
The other references hasn't been released on CD or 12" single whatever the country. Ti Amo records never released even in Canada the Freida's track
"Promise to stay". This song is only available on compilation or medleys. Do am I right?

This comp is definitely terrible...but not the worse!

Laterz,

Francis

@ Francis.....

i think Mr.Bass is Adam Marano, too cause a friend of mine have bought a whole CD from Mr Bass and in the booklet by every Song you read the Name Adam Marano.

As for the Vol.16 it is waste to hear such songs like Stevie B "Spring love" (almost 99 % of the Freestyle listener have the song i think) BVSMP, COD......they are sooo old.

DJ Sequenza is a little bit older, too i think 99/00 ???

I also sended Zyx a Mail, but no reply....They can handle no critics at all i think......

You might be right, that the Vol. 16 is not the worse but ALL THE VOL. and MOSTLY ALL THE ZYX STUFF SUCKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Low cost producing.....always the same......

Wink

Peter,

Of course, Adam Marano is Mr. Bass...I thought you already know that. LOL. The specialty of Adam is to use different names!!!
I heard some samples of the album, what can I say, the style and the production are simply awful. In my opinion, it's definitely not Freestyle and Adam Marano just does the same style that Bomfunkmcs, and Mr Bass is just a copycat of the Finnish band.

I will never buy one of Mr. Bass products, not my cup of tea!!!

As for ZYX Freestyle series, as I said, I'm not a fan of. It's not a reference for me, but this series permits to non European Freestylerz to hear some stuffs from Germany. It's very hard for the foreign people (especially from the US) to get the German CDs.

ZYX Music is certainly the most important and famous European Freestyle labels, and in my opinion they are producing too much low quality stuffs. ZYX Music (and especially his affiliated label MNF Records) should release more singles than compilations...
The other problem with the German labels it's that each record company exchange songs. This is why some tracks are available on every German compilations.
For instance, this series of CDs is really appreciated by the Canadian buyers, they are really enjoy the products released by ZYX Music because the German style is very close from the Canadian genre... too much products with Planet Rock beat for instance.

Laterz,

Francis
