Where's it at?

The freestyle?!!! Where have you been hearing freestyle these days? Any good radio stations? Listening to the old cds, tapes, etc?

Where I am, they have no clue what freestyle is. The closest they come is I'll occasionally hear Exposť during the 80s flashback weekends....other than that of all places, The Weather Channel has been playing some Timmy T during the "locals on the 8s"...and Yo Gabba Gabba, a toddler show on Noggin has a version of When I Hear Music. Other than that, I must resort to my cd collection.

Ugh, how I miss Long Island and Freestyle Fridays...*sigh*

I know what you mean I moved from NY to Atlanta GA, now this is a state that does not know Freestyle but I do think there is hope I have heard them play some old school freestyle but thats about it maybe one or two songs that's it but a lot of people here are from NY so they remember those songs Thank God for my station Toma Radio that where i get my Freestyle fix. I need to find clubs, lounges that play some songs so we can make it grow

I usually hear freestyle online, or from CDs in the car.

Well, it's cool you got some NYers there...I moved from Long Island, New York
to South Central Virginia...way in the boonies and they aren't too fond of NYers...The radio here is either country, rap or evangelical stuff, and in my car I get one station. I really miss my freestyle.

I miss the old Hot 103/Hot 97 - so even when I left New York, I didn't hear much Freestyle anymore. Party 105 barely came in - and KTU blew after the first few months. Down in Florida, there was a great Freestyle station - but it shut down a few months after I got here. The only place I hear Freestyle these days is from my iPod. I REALLY wish there was a Satellite radio station that played my favorite music...

Yeah those are my only options too...They don't get KTU in Jersey? Or have they completely stopped playing freestyle?

I remember I was really addicted to your live365 station...you used to play all my favorites.

The only freestyle music I listen to beside my CD's is the Freestyle File Internet Radio Show w/DJ Paradise & Nyasia @ www.Ustream.TV/Channel/Freestyle-File-Radio

We're going to get some internet radio stations hooked up here very soon. Probably sometime Monday...

I get KTU in Jersey, but they haven't really played any big rotation of freestyle, and they play the same songs over and over.

Cover Girls - Show Me

TKA - Maria

Sweet Sensation - Hooked On You

Coro - Where Are You Tonight

and other various classics.

KTU is not what it used to be. That used to be my favorite station when I was living in NY.

ChuckD 05-23-2010 10:00 AM

You got that right, sweetie! Geeez. I barely listen to them any more.

Sal Collaziano 05-23-2010 10:53 AM

I think people liked WKTU so much because they were basically the only option once WQHT died and went to R&B...
